Belarusian system of space communications to be constructed by Iran

Belarus and Iran are set to discuss the prospects of participation of the Iranian side in the project on creation of the Belarusian national system of space communications and telecommunications.

Interfax-Zapad learnt about that from Communications and Informatization Ministry of Belarus.

The Ministry reminded that last Tuesday a delegation visited the republican unitary enterprise Beltelekom and carried out talks with Communications Minister Mikalay Pantsyalej and Director General of Beltelekom Kanstantsin Tsikar.

“In a common statement summing up the results of the meeting the sides agreed upon holding talks on organizing a trunk channel between Belarus and Iran, participation of Iran in the project of creation of a Belarusian national system of space communications, production of telecommunications equipment, and cooperation in the sphere of producing philatelic items,” the Communications Ministry informs.

“On the same day the delegation visited the National Academy of Science, where it was received by the chairman of the Presidium Mikhail Myasnikovich, and the United Institute of Informatics Problems. Issues of bilateral cooperation in the sphere of remote sensing and computer technology were in the focus of attention of the talks,” they continued.

The Belarusian Ministry source added that “on Wednesday the delegation plans to visit organisations of the State Military and Industrial Committee and the Research and Technology society Svyazinformservis; and the High Technologies Park on October 23”.
