$ 1,000 Fine for resistance to trees destruction

The court of Leninski district of Hrodna has recognized that local activists are responsible for “petty hooliganism” and disobedience to policemen, and sentenced them to a fine for a total sum of 1,000 dollars.
On November 13 the trial over activists of “For Freedom” movement Edvard Dmukhouski, a local historian Ihar Lapekh and activist Nadzeya Krapivina took place. On October 16 this year they were detained for an attempt to prevent cutting hornbeams. Major Syarhei Vechar was in charge of detention, Nasha Niva writes.
Edvard Dmukhouski was found guilty of petty hooliganism and was sentenced to a fine of 5 basic units (175 thousand rubles). Besides, Ihar Lapekha and Nadzeya Krapivina were found guilty of disobedience to policemen. They were fined 30 basic units (1,050,000 Br) and 25 basic units (875,000 Br) accordingly.
As we have informed, in the beginning of the month local dwellers stopped illegal trees cutting of hornbeams alley. There trees are included in the Red Book.
