11

The preventive council of the Belarusian State University decided to reprimand students of LAW Faculty Tatsyana Shaputska and Nasta Loika for participation in a picket “Tribunal for Communism!” held opposite the KGB building on November 7.

Tatsyana Shaputska told to Radio Svaboda Andrei Shydlouski, subdean for educational work and head of the preventive council, informed her about the decision.

“The preventive council adopted a common decision on Nasta Loika and me – a reprimand. Nasta and I wrote in our letters of explanations we are not going to stop but go on (maybe, more careful) participating in public life of Belarus,” the activist said.

It should be reminded that Tatsyana Shaputska, first year full-time student, and Nasta Loika, third year student of correspondent department, were detained and sentenced to 3-day arrest for participation in a picket “Tribunal for Communism!” on November 7.

Though it was a day off, KGB officers visited BSU rector’s office and complained at bad educational work among students. Tatsyana Shaputska told to the subdean she was a student of high education establishment and found interference of KGB officers unnecessary.

“The subdean said at the preventive council many gradutes opf Law Faculty work in the KGB, and, which is the mst interesting, they are proud of this,” Tatsyana Shaputska stressed.
