Oppositional rallies banned in Kobryn and Pinsk

Members of Kobryn branch of the Young Front received negative answers to their application for holding anti-Communist pickets on December 8.

A picket had been planned on Lenin Square in Kobryn, and in Kirov Square in Pinsk.

Local executive committees said no with absolutely the same wording: “the declared place is included in the number of places intended for public use, which support vital activities of the population and in which holding of mass events is banned according to the law on mass events”.

However, as noted by Young Front members, every year state celebrations are held on central squares, which are obviously not considered to be unlawful.

As we have informed, pickets planned in the framework of the campaign “Court-martial for Communism!” in Minsk and Mozyr haven’t been authorized either.
