Organisers of builders’ strike harassed by administration

One of the initiators of a strike of Mahilyou builders Mikola Rasyuk is sent to the village of Druzhauka, Chavusy district by administration of building office No.129.

As said by Mr Rasyuk, administration explains the duty journey by “production necessity”, but he believes that in this way he is send off from the construction site in order to stop him from summoning others to take part in protest rallies, Radio Svaboda informs.

“The house with 129 apartments which we have been building for almost 2 years, is to be finished soon. There are more builders now there. There are about 100 of them, as I think. So the administration does not want to take risk any more. They say the director of the building office was reprimanded for the strike from the heads of construction group Lausanbud,” Mikola Rasyuk said.

As we have informed, on November 28 builders of Mahilyou building office No.129 held a one-hour warning strike. Its cause was late payment.

30 builders have taken part in the protest rally. The chief engineer and deputy director general of the construction group Lausanbud managed to persuade strikers to start work and promised to pay wages. After the working day finished, the builders received their money. Except for the money, they demanded to increase the wages by one half.
