Oppositionist warned for cooperation with Belsat

An activist from Homel Kanstantsin Zhukau has received a letter from the prosecutor’s office of Vetka district. He is warned about unacceptability of cooperation with the Polish TV channel Belsat.

As the BelaPAN has been informed by K. Zhukouski, it is stated in the letter that the prosecutor’s office carried out an inspection upon an application of the chairman of the regional council of deputies Yauhen Chavankou. It is said in the official warning that the activist violates the law by providing materials to a foreign mass media not accredited by the Foreign Ministry of Belarus. In case facts of cooperation with this channel would be established again, K. Zhukouski is to be brought to responsibility.

“I ran to the “parliament” in this constituency, so I was really making some video footage for myself. I am a citizen of Belarus, so I do have a right to give the information to any channel, be it BT, CNN of RTR,” the activist commented the situation.
