23 families lost residence for non-payment of utility bills

23 families were evicted from their apartments for non-payment of utility bills in Minsk in 2007.

BelaPAN learnt it from Tatyana Zherbun, chief bookkeeper of the Minsk City Housing Service.

According with the previous information, 14 families were evicted in 2006. 137 claims for eviction were filed in 2007. The term of non-payment leading to eviction exceeds 6 months as a rule, and sums make up from BYR 2 million to 5 million.

As T. Zherbun said, 88 747 orders on water, gas and electricity shutdown for non-payment were given. 34 600 apartments were deprived of all public services.
