Does KGB arm to keep opposition under observation?

Last week Minsk was visited by a representative of English company Sepura. He presented special equipment for secret field supervision over objects to Belarusian special services and Defense Ministry.

At the meeting with an expert of Sepure several army officers, Interior Ministry and KGB officers were present. The main accent of the presentation was made on military application of presented radio stations, called radio terminals in modern terms, “Ezhednevnik” informs.

Products of Sepura company is known in the world by its non-civil use. Thus, during the war in Iraq sale of a few dozens thousands terminals into the armed conflict area had a scandalous touch.

At the presentation in Minsk most of the time was dedicated to terminals for secret field supervision over people which could be disguised under clothes or in a pocket, when agents are involved in spying upon a certain person. Naturally, such terminals are made in keeping with the latest technical standards, have a high level of voice encryption and are controlled by a hidden manipulator. In order to make the equipment invisible when being near a urveillance object, it doesn’t have displays, and signals of an operative agent are given in a form of disguised street noises.

In order to maintain a high level of secrecy when observing people the British company offered Belarusian customers a wide range of special camouflage clothes and accessories for surveillance, including jackets of different colours, trousers, bras, breastpin and rucksacks.

The presenters assured that the full 300-page catalogue of special clothes for surveillance with description of goods to every taste would be sent to interested Belarusian clients. Covert style earpieces were especially recommended.

As said by a Sepura representative, the company sold its equipment to the Internal Ministry and Federal Security Service of Russia, while in the Great Britain many radio terminals have been included in the inventory; of one of the most powerful secret services officially. Now the company is set to start sales in Belarus.

It has been noted by the Ezhednavnik that after the presentation talks with one of Belarusian customers started. They lasted for many hours.
