KGB officers seized great sum of money from oppositionist

On May 28 KGB officers detained the head of Brest regional branch of the Belarusian Popular Front Zmitser Shymanski. The activist was taken to the Financial Investigation Department.
As Zmitser Dashkevich told to Radio Racyja, has money he had with him ($1,700) were confiscated, under a pretext they could be forged. The detention was explained to him by a fact of financial check of his activities, and whether he obeys tax laws.
Zmitser Shymanski is convinced that the detention is connected with his civil and political activities.
