New Amnesty could be announced in Belarus

In the near future the Internal Ministry will appeal for announcing another amnesty, dedicated to the anniversary of liberation of Belarus from Nazi invaders.

“In the near future the Internal Ministry will appeal to the state to announce another amnesty for persons imprisoned for petty crimes,” Interior Minister of Belarus Uladzimir Navumau told at a briefing in Minsk. He noted that the amnesty is to be rimed to the anniversary of the country’s liberation from the German invaders, Interfax informs.

“Judging by the results of the recent amnesty, when several hundreds persons convicted for petty crimes were released, the results are positive,” U. Navumau said.

As said by the Minister, release of the amnestied has influenced other prisoners convicted for petty crimes. “It has caused them to start work to settle debts to the state and complainants,” Interior Minister said.
