KGB became interested in human right activist Valyantsin Stefanovich’s family

Alina, wife of famous human rights activist Valyantsin Stefanovich, received a telephone call from KGB directorate on Minsk and the Minsk region with a proposition to appear for a conversation. She wasn’t explained a reason of her calling up.

Alina refused to talk without a summons and hung up. Valyantsin Stefanovich thinks the actiosn of Minsk KGB officers are pressure on him and his family members and links it with his electoral and c public activity as well as with monitoring of the election for the lower chamber of the Belarusian “parliament”. Unfortunately, facts of such intimidation are becoming massive.

It should be reminded that earlier tax inspection was interested in incomes of Stefanovich’s family and the human rights activist was called to the Department of Financial Investigation of the State Control Committee of Belarus.
