On August 22 during the meeting with Iranian Ambassador Abdolhamid Fekri, the chairman of the “chamber of representatives” Vadzim Papou noted that Belarus and Iran have created a rather good contractual basis.
The meeting in the “chamber of representatives” had been caused by expiry of the Iranian diplomat’s term of office.
V. Papou noted that the stay of A. Fekri in Belarus hasn’t passed unnoticed. “A considerable contribution in development of our relations has been made. Over the period of your work in Belarus, the bilateral trade has almost doubled. The joint commission on trade and economic development has started to work sustainably. Joint ventures are being launched”.
Abdolhamid Fekri underlined that the existing level of the bilateral trade is far from being the limit of the cooperation potential between the two countries. “Joint projects that are currently being implemented and the ones that are to be realized in the short-term perspective are estimated at billions of dollars,” the Ambassador added.
A. Fekri took the position of the Ambassador to Belarus in January 2005.
