MFA gives no comments on Martynau’s visit to Brussels

The Belarusian foreign ministry refrains from comments on foreign minister Syarhei Martynau’s possible participating in a session of EU foreign ministers in Brussels scheduled for September 15.
“We know about messages on this topic in media with reference to anonymous sources. It’s difficult to comment on anything under such conditions,” MFA spokesman Andrei Papou told to Interfax-Zapad.
Information about invitation of the MFA head for a session of 27 EU foreign ministers in Brussels has appeared in some Belarusian and Russian media. According to the media, S. Martynau is expected to meet with European Commissioner Benita Ferrero-Waldner, High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy Javier Solana and French foreign minister Bernard Kouchner.
