A session of the city organisation of BPF party has taken place in Minsk. The session decided party members must withdraw from the “election” before the beginning of voting – September 23.
So, the city organisation supported a previous decision of the party Soim, disputed my most BPF candidates. However, vast majority (40 out of 42) of the city session participants voted for the Soim decision to remain in force, "Narodnaya Volya" newspaper reports.
Minsk party members think only one candidate, Alyaksandr Mekh of Kobryn, has no right to withdraw. It should be reminded, that he was fired from job for his running in the election campaign and now opposes MP-veteran Viktar Kuchynski, representing the authorities. Moreover, the Minsk party members think the BPF should apply best efforts to make a lodgement of observers to the Kobryn constituency during the election campaign.
A final decision on running of BPF candidates in the election campaign will be taken on Saturday, September 20.
