Independent candidates addressed the public: there’s no liberalisation

2

Seven PM candidates from Babruisk – Alena Myadzvedzeva, Alyaksandr Chyhir, Uladzimir Syamashka, Fyodar Varonich, Mikhail Kavalkou, Hanna Hatavyets, and Syarhei Yeudakimovich wrote an address to the voters, media, inner observers, international community, and international observers.

A reason was an article in “Bobruiskaya Zhizn”, a newspaper of the city executive committee, containing libel and insults of them.

“Mud and lies appear in “Bobruiskaya Zhizn” newspaper and on the city radio, invasion of privacy of the candidates is noticed. It came to the fact we are accused of offences, providing criminal punishment,” the candidates write.

The authors of the statement remind that Belarus has set to a course for normalising of relations with Europe that depends on transparency and fairness of the “election”, but this doesn’t happens in reality, the campaign “Human Rights Activists for Free Election” reports.

“If the “election” isn’t recognised by the international community, it will be entire guilt of certain officials of the Babruisk city executive committee and local state-run media,” independent MP candidates say at the end of their address.
