Issue of recognition of South Ossetia and Abkhazia’s independence to be considered by the new “parliament” (Video)

It has been stated by A. Lukashenka at the press-conference for journalists of Russian provincial mass media.

“For us it is not just a position of Russia, to recognize or not recognize Abkhazia. It is not the most important thing. The time will come, and we shall consider this issue in Belarus. We shall consider it, like Russia has done it, in the parliament. I think, our deputies, who are to be elected by us in a few days, are to turn to this matter. We do not have a right to shut mouth and keep silent. It is not fair in relation to Abkhazia. The same thing is with South Ossetia,” A. Lukashenka said.

Lukashenka has also noted that at the session of the Council of the Collective Security Treaty Organization at the level of leaders of the states in Moscow last Friday, “everything was not so easy”. “Ask your president to tell you everything honestly. And look what position different states had. The issue of recognition or non-recognition of Ossetia – it is not only and not just Russia’s support,” he concluded.
