The leader of the United Civil Party was detained after personal search on the Belarusian-Lithuanian border in the morning of October 7.
Anatol Lyabedzka told this in an interview to BelaPAN.
According to Lyabedzka, Belarusian border guards became interested in his documents and then asked to show a customs declaration. After that the UCP leader was searched.
“As a result, I have been standing on the border for more than an hour and can’t entry Lithuania, though all my documents are OK,” Lyabedzka said.
According to the politician, it has been the first such case for the last few months.
“I didn’t meet problems when crossing the border before, but this time I’ve faced strange problems,” Lyabedzka noted.
The UCP head is visiting Vilnius on an invitation of the Lithuanian Seimas. He is going to have a range of working meetings there.
