KGB exerts pressure on BPF activist

On November 18 in the morning a member of the Belarusian Popular Front party from Byalynichy Ales Novikau received a phone call from a KGB officer who offered “cooperation”.

As said by Novikau, first he received a call to a mobile phone, and then on a home phone. Besides, the BPF activist was invited for a meeting.

At the moment however Ales Novikau is an in-patient of Byalynichy hospital, the press-service of the BPF party informs. KGB officers tried to contact the oppositionist through the head of the therapeutic department of Byalynichy hospital. Novikau was offered cooperation again, but the oppositionist refused.

Ales Novikau’s father informed that the local KGB branch many times induced the young man for cooperation.
