The fifth Ambasovichcha festival of Belarusian music was traditionally held at the US Ambassador's residence in Raubichi near Minsk.

11 music groups from different parts of Belarus representing different music styles took part in the fest. Belarusian Eurovision 2009 participant Pyotr Elfimov and a US band The Gifted Children (the state of New York) also played gigs.

Khutki smouzh from the Mahilou region won the competition with 53 votes.

DetiDetei (Minsk) were the second with 45 votes, the third place was given to Unia (44 votes).

Jonathan Moore, Chargé d'Affaires ad interim of the United States in Belarus, told BelaPAN he would leave the country in some weeks as his mission came to an end. “I’m not happy to leave the country, because I haven’t done everything I‘d like to do,” the diplomat said. Mr Moore noticed Ambasovishcha fest, which was the fourth for him, among the achievements of his mission.

According to Moore, the festival is dedicated to freedom first of all: “This is a fest of the freedom of speech, freedom of expression. This is an opportunity to be together and listen to talented musicians.”
