The leader of the United Civil Party initiates a collective address to the prosecutor general of Belarus Ryhor Vasilevich.
Anatol Lyabedzka demands to initiate a case to establish that Alyaksandr Lukashenka rigged results of the election of the presidential campaign of 2006, ucpb.org informs.
As said by the politician, “the things said once could be explained by the situation, by journalists’ misunderstanding. Repeated twice, is a fact and a proof of what had taken place”.
As we have informed, in an interview published to “Izvestiya” newspaper, Lukashenka stated: “93% voted for me in the last election. And I confessed then that they simply started to press on me to falsify results together… I ordered to make not 93%, but something about 80%, I do not remember how many… as more than 90% cannot be swallowed psychologically. But it was the truth.” A it is known, Lukashenka said about rigging presidential election results in November 2006 at a press-conference for Ukrainian journalists in Minsk as well.
“In the run-up to the presidential campaign we cannot ignore the confession that the final figures were not the result of fair vote count, but indices set by one man, who was besides a participant of this election campaign,” Anatol Lyabedzka said. “It is one more kick in the teeth and spit on more than 7 million voters from the fifth floor of the Red House. We must demand the prosecutor’s office to initiate proceedings on the fact of rigged election results; we should demand the world community to react appropriately, we should push for Yarmoshyna’s dismissal and dismissal of those who signed rigged figures of the recorded votes. These events are just confirmed by a necessity to make considerable changes in the electoral code and law enforcement practice”.
The politician plans to ask 50 well-known citizens of the country sign the address to the prosecutor’s office and the world community.
