Action “We want be taught in Belarusian!” in Minsk (Photo)

Seven activists of the “BPF Youth” held a performance dedicated to the Knowledge Day near the shopping center in Nyamiha Street in Minsk.

Six youth activists formed a human chain holding pieces of paper with pictures (notes, a computer). They played a role of children with tendency to exact sciences who want to study in specialized classes, “Nasha Niva” newspaper reports. He seventh participant was a school mistress. She took away all posters and made the action participant to put on rubbish bags with an inscription “general education”. The participants of the action rang a bell and walked through the city.

In such a way the youth activists expressed their protest against cancelling specialized and lyceum classes in Belarusian schools and turned attention to the use of the Russian language in educational process.
