Navumau: “I have learnt from mass media recently American girl who went missing 18 years ago was found”

A former Interior Affairs Minister answered rather cynically to the question about persons who went missing in Belarus 10 years ago.

During an online press-conference at TUT.BY portal, Uladzimir Navumau was asked: “10 years have passed since disappearance of the former Interior Ministry head Yury Zakharanka, who joined the opposition, of vice speaker of the Supreme Soviet Viktar Hanchar and his friend, businessman Anatol Krasouski, as well as a cameraman of the Russian ORT TV channel Zmitser Zavadski. How would you comment on this situation?”

“I have never refused to comment on this question, as these criminal cases are still not investigated. I believe that no one should be blamed without investigation being finished. The persons convicted for abduction of Zavadski are serving the sentence. I have learnt from mass media recently that a girl was found in the US who went missing 18 years ago. So the hope to find the persons mentioned by you is not completely lost”, Navumau said.

We remind that vice speaker of the Supreme Soviet of Belarus, the chairman of the Election Commission Viktar Hanchar and his friend, businessman and public leader Anatol Krasouski, a former Interior Ministry head Yury Zakharanka who joined the opposition, as well as a cameraman of the Russian ORT TV channel Zmitser Zavadski went missing in 1999-2000 in Belarus.
