Oppositionist Leanid Autukhou was deprived of his computer as a part of the fine he had got last year for a street action with Belarusian national white-red-white flags.
Resident of Haradok town Leanid Autukhou told he had failed to pay a fine of 1,400,000 he had received in August last year. He, the head of the district BPF unit, has not been able to find job for the last three years as directors of local enterprises know his opposition views and do not want to hire him because he may “spoil” the collective, Radio Svaboda reports.
Officers of court attached the property of Leanid Autukhou last year in spite of the fact that he transferred 10,000 rubles every month to pay the fine. Two weeks ago, the activist was told his property would be seized. On November 11, his computer and printer were seized. The oppositionist didn’t have other valuables apart from essential household furniture, namely a bed, a sofa, a TV set.
The oppositionist doesn’t longer have any property that can be sold. His saw bench was set on fire by unknown people last month. Leanid Autukhovich used to be a sole proprietor, he sawed and sell wood.
The local emergency service concluded the fire was caused by arson. According to Autukhou, the police don’t look for criminals. He as said it was impossible to find the people guilty. The damage was valued only at 350,000 rubles.
