The meeting place with voters in Belarus is building site (Photo)

Presidential candidates were offered to meet with the voters on the outskirts or at building sites in Baranavichy.

On November 12: the Baranavichy city executive committee took three decisions: On allocating premises to organize meeting of presidential candidates with the voters, On determining places to display agitation printed materials, and On determining places to hold mass street events organized by presidential candidates.

The places to hold mass events are situated in newly established park, and three small public gardens on the outskirts of the town. These places are rarely visited by people. As it was found out, the old park, another site allowed for meetings with the voters, is on reconstruction.

Places to display agitation materials are a poster pillar (just one in the city center), seven information stands in utility service offices, and voter’s corners in libraries (that often do not attract much attention).

Traditionally, meetings with the voters are allowed in small halls of six municipal services offices and premises of the City House of Officers, but this building is owned not by the city executive committee but by military institutions. However, the experience of recent years shows that it’s very difficult for candidates to get a chance to hold their meeting there.
