Stratfor: Iran received Russian super-radars through Belarus

According to information of the US research institute, Iran had received powerful modern radar systems.
The deal was continued to be made even after Russia officially refused to perform the contract to delivery of S-300 missile systems to Iran, VPK website informs.
The sale was completed in secret through intermediate parties, Belarus and Venezuela. Officially Russian radars were sold to Belarus, Belarus sold them to Venezuelan firm, and the latter “recently delivered these systems to Iran via Abu Dhabi.”
The report by Stratfor informs that the radars can be used in many different spheres. At the moment it is not known for a fact what exactly radars are means, and whether they would be able to improve the air defence system of Iran considerably. Geopolitical circumstances of this deal need further inquiry.
During the military drills “Defender of the Sky of Vellayat III” the higher command of the Iranian Air Force many times boasted of “new radar systems.” On November 14 Brigadier General Akhmad Mikani stated that the Iranian industry “had designed and started producing radars able to detect targets at a distance of 300-2000 km.”
If the statements by Makani are true to fact, they symbolize an overwhelming technological break-through of Iranian military industry, which had not produced radars so far. However, experts of the Stratfor are sure that tryout of just received Russian radars are meant.
