Belarusian TV doesn’t show presidential candidates to Belarusians abroad

The presentations are not published on the website of the Belarusian TV and Radio Company.

Belarusians living abroad are not able to watch speeches of presidential candidates in a live broadcast. The reason is that the speeches are not transmitted to satellites and to Belarus TV channel broadcasting for foreign audience, Euroradio reports.

Head of Belarusian TV press service Svyatlana Smalonskaya-Kraskouskaya said the speeches were broadcasted in accordance with the ruling of the Central Election Commission. The document says the TV presentations should be broadcasted on First National Channel. The ruling says nothing about the foreign audience and the channel’s staff does not take independent decisions, the head of the press service notes.

Smalonskaya-Kraskouskaya suggested watching the candidates’ video presentations on other websites.
