Participants of the march were chanting “It’s high time to change bald tyres!” and “Together we will win!”

Dozens of activists of “European Belarus” civil campaign and “Tell the truth!” campaign were taking part in the rally. Activists left the place near the Academy of Sciences and marched till October (Kastrychnitskaya) Square.

Policemen tried to stop the oppositionists, however, Yauhen Afnagel, the campaign chief of Andrei Sannikov in Minsk, stated that “in the framework of the election campaign people have a right to hold agitation events in any part of Minsk.”

The participants of the rally were accompanies by about 20 policemen in plainclothes.

Young people were going along Nezalezhnasti Avenue, chanting the names of the presidential candiates, Sannikov and Nyaklyaeu, “It’s high time to replace the bald tyre!”, “Together we shall win!”, “Long live Belarus!”, and called upon Minsk dwellers to come to the Square on December 19 at 8.00 p.m.

The activists stopped on the way at busy spots of the city and handed out leaflets.

The activists held a meeting near the state department store. There Yauhen Afnagel called upon Minsk dwellers not to take part in early voting, to cast their votes on the main Election Day only; to disseminate information about alternative candidates and to come to the Square on December 19 at 8 p.m.
