A presidential aspirant in Belarus Mikalai Statkevich wanted to meet with voters in Hrodna Philharmonic Hall, however he had to make a speech from the front steps of the building.

Besides, a presidential aspirant Dzmitry Us and agents of two other candidates addressed Hrodna dwellers as well. About 150 persons gathered to listen to them. Meanwhile the authorities offered for the meeting the premises of the vocational school and even buses, in order to take people there, Radio Svaboda informs.

“Thank you for attending our meeting, though it is held in uncomfortable conditions. It is cold. But I think that it could be good, as people in your town would see that there are people who disagree with what is happening to our country. One person, who had been elected in a fair election, has done away with this election! He has usurped power, and now is possibly a former president, according to conscience and under the law! Our aim, mine and Dzmitry Us’, is to tell you what is going on in the electoral system in our country. We are not going to promise working places and pensions to you, it is unwise and impossible, as we do not have elections! Have no hope, your votes would be stolen again! We must oppose, we must return election to us!” Statkevich urged.

An electioneering agent of Yaraslau Ramanchuk, Yury Istomin, addressed the voters as well.

“We do not have a free election, our votes won’t be counted at polling stations; that is why we must defend our right for a vote count, for free and fair election, on the Square on December 19. and I also call upon you to come to the square and defend our memory about the people who had died for Belarus,” Istomin said.
