The leadership of the Brest executive committee and representatives of the regional mass media had a meeting in Kobryn on February 19.
A presentation of the Brest region mass media was organized within framework of the meeting and results of journalistic competition were announced, the press service of the Belarusian Association of Journalists reports.
Head of the regional executive committee Kanstantsin Sumar gave a press conference after the solemn ceremony. Editor-in-chief of “Brestski Kuryer” Mikalai Alyaksandrau remained the committee head about problems with distributing “Intex-press” and some other papers registered in the Brest region (“Gazeta dla vas”, “Hantsavitski Chas”).
“The media environment in the Brest region show active development in comparison with other regions. But the above mentioned papers were stricken out of the state distributing system and cannot spread their products in a usual way. I think this is unfair. So, I’d like to know when the situation will be improved,” Alyaksandrau said.
The executive committee head didn’t refer to a dispute between the market participants and assured he stood for finding a favourable decision.
“Try to write in a constructive way, without mocking and looking for hot facts and, I hope, you will be included in the distributing systems of Belpochta and Soyuzpechat,” Kanstantsin Sumar advised.
