Belarusian “parliamentarians” opt not to recognize North Ossetia

Members of the Belarusian “chamber of representatives” have responded to the address of Homel oppositionists who asked to recognize independence of North Ossetia.
The issue of independence of North Ossetia is Russia’s prerogative, believe Belarusian parliamentarians”. It was announced by the chairman of the standing commission on international affairs and ties with the CIS Syarhei Matskevich.
We remind that in February voters of the Moladzevy constituency number 30 for election of deputies of Homel city council sent an address to the “chamber of representatives” and to members of the “council of republic”. In the document citizens offered to recognize state independence of North Ossetia. The address was signed by 20 persons.
Recently the initiator of the address, a candidate for Deputy Ihar Sluchak, received an answer from the “chamber of representatives” to the offer of voters. It was noted in the document: “as the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania is a subject of the Russian Federation, prerogative of changing its status belongs to the Russian Federation and the subject of the Russian Federation on their mutual consent”.
This position of the “chamber of representatives” is not quite clear for Ihar Sluchak.
“On the one hand, they recognize Russia’s priority in solving the issue of North Ossetia, and on the other hand they do not recognize the right of Georgia in solving the issue of South Ossetia and Abkhazia, giving Russia the right to solve this problem again. It’s a bias in solving an analogous problem,” “Belarusian partisan” was told by a candidate for Deputy of Homel city council Ihar Sluchak.
By the way, the upper chamber of the “parliament” has sent an address of voters of Moladzevy constituency number 30 concerning recognition of North Ossetia’s independence to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Now Ihar Sluchak is waiting for a decision of the Foreign Ministry of Belarus.
