Candidate deprived registration for baloons

On April 20 the leader of "Nash dom" ("Our home") civil campaign, a candidate for deputy of Vitsebsk regional and city councils Volha Karach was deprived registration.

In the press-release of the campaign it is noted that Karach was charged with abuse of her right for agitation: "election commissions recieved a complaint of a "group of citizens" that voters were given baloons with the logo of "Nash dom". It was viewed as voters' treating , BelaPAN informs.

"Another accusation was a parformance of students' amateur theatre during the candidate's meeting with voters," the report reads. Its authors note that the election commission hasn't found any violations in participation of amateur actors in meeting with voters of Karach's rival, Valery Bashmetau, Technologies university rector.

According to Karach, elimination of her candidature shows "fear and confusion of authorities in front of strong oppositional candidates". She called upon her voters either boycott the vote or "cross out all candidates, to write "For Karach" in the voting ballot and put in the ballot box".
