Has Kurmanbek Bakiyev flewn to Turkish beaches?

26

Russian media inform that Kurmanbek Bakiyev has left for a holiday in Turkey.

The former leader of Kyrgyzstan has possibly left Belarus. "Recently the former president of Kyrgyzstan has left Belarus for Belek, where he plans to have a holiday," Interfax agency was told by a representative of diplomatic circles.

He could not say however how long the Turkish holiday of the ex-president would take and whether Bakiyev would retun to Belarus.

As noted by "Ezhednevnik", it is worth mentioning that this move of Bakiyev, if it had really taken place, is extremely illogical. On May 11 the office of Belarus' Prosecutor General office confirmed that a package of documents on extradition of the former president Kurmanbek Bakiyev had been recieved by them. However it is not clear for how long the documents would be studied. It could happen much quicker in another state, and Bakiyev could be detained before the results of the documents' studying are presented.

Another fact that contradicts the version of Bakiyev's Turkish migration is his interview in Minsk to RIA Novosti published today, May 24. "I think I could be useful here as well. I do not know in what capacity. But I am doing everything to be of help," K. Bakiyev said.

По его мнению, признательность к белорусскому народу, президенту Александру Лукашенко не позволяет ему «сидеть просто так, и прожигать оставшуюся жизнь».

According to him, gratitude to the Belarusian nation, president Alyaksandr Lukahsenka do not allow him to "sit just so and waste life".

"I want not simply live here, but I will try to be of service to this Belarusian land, to the president of Belarus and the Belarusian nation," Bakiyev said.
