The General Prosecutor’s Office of Belarus received documents from the General Prosecutor’s Office of Kyrgyzstan for extradition of ex-president Kurmanbek Bakiyev. This information was spread by Pyotr Kisyalou, the head of the information and PR department of the Prosecutor’s Office.
“Most of the documents regarding Bakiyev have been received from the General Prosecutor’s Office of Kyrgyzstan by mail,” Kisyalou said. “These are the original extradition request and 18 pages of additional documents.” The papers received are being considered by Belarusian prosecutors.
Time for studying the documents will depend on the volume and content of the materials received. Pyotr Kisyalou noted additional information could be needed.
