Political prisoner Artsyom Dubski to be released on May 25

Meanwhile, pressure by the administration of the corrective facility against Artsyom Dubski, who is serving the sentence in the colony in Mahilyou, does not cease.

The "Young Front" activist complained to lawyer Tamara Sidarenka who visited him in the colony on April 30, about low quality of medical help, about threats to place him to a punitive isolation ward once again. Letters of Artsyom Dubski are often not recieved by addressees. And he is promised to recieve a parcel sent from the Netherlands a month ago only after his release, spring96.org website informs.

We remind that on July 7, 2009 Asipovichy court sentenced Artsyom Dubski to one year imprisonment in Mahilyou correctional colony. Right after the verdict was announced, Dubski was taken under guard and placed to the remand prison.

According to the verdict, Artsyom Dubski was charged with violation of Article 415 of the Criminal Code of Belarus (violation of the rules of serving punishment). It should be also reminded that on April 23, 2008 Arstyom Dubski and 14 other young people was charged under Article 342 of the Criminal Code (organising or active participation in group actions grossly violating public order) for their participation in the peaceful protest rally of entrepreneurs on January 1, 2008. International community recognized Artsyom Dubski prisoner of conscience.
