The Football Federation of Belarus (FFB) doesn’t have information about concrete organizers of the Nazi escapade of Dinamo football club fans during a game with Vitsebsk.

“The club promised the law-enforcement bodies to render assistance in finding these people. As soon as we get necessary information we will consider it at the nearest session,” said Uladzimir Vitushka, head of the FFB disciplinary committee, BelaPAN reports.

“A decision on imposing a fine of 7,000 basic units (245 million rubles – BelaPAN) was taken unanimously,” he noted. “It was confirmed that there was a banner depicting Rudolf Hess at Dinamo-Uni stadium during a game between Dinamo and Vitsebsk.”

Vitushka explained why a committee session on the issue had been delayed form May 3 to May 6: “We had some questions at the first session. Neither inspector nor referees saw the banner. We needed an additional check-up. We received materials from the militia and Pressball newspaper. We also questioned members of Dinamo fanclub. As a result, we’ve found out that the banner really was hung out during the football match.”

“What to the banner content, it is at least controversial. However, we can state that the fact of promoting Nazi symbols and fascists ideals took place,” the committee head said. “We also took into account that it wasn’t the first case of using controversial symbols at Dinamo matches. We also took into account the fact that this action violated our disciplinary code. That’s why we have taken such a strict decision.”

According to Vitushka, the disciplinary committee took into consideration the history of the football club and the fact it belongs to people and decided not to hold games without fans.

“I hope this decision well serve as a warning to all clubs and their fans,” Vitushka said.

The executive board of Dinamo club disagrees with the decision and plans to file an objection to the FFB appeal committee.
