Names of the oppositionists who won seats in the local councils in the elections have been released. We remind that the “elections” have been recognized non-free and undemocratic.
As BelaPAN reports, two representatives of the organizing committee on forming the Belarusian Social Democratic Party (Narodnya Hramada) Uladzimir Mishura and Antanina Sudnik were elected members of Neharelskaye village council (Dzerzhynsk district, Minsk region).
Four members of the local council represent the Belarusian Left Party “Fair World”. Alyaksandr Halkevich is elected member of Baranavichy city district (Brest region), Uladzimir Darapei –Brest district council, Iosif Matsiyun –Vileika district council (Minsk region), Natallya Ryshard – Svislach village council (Pukhavichy district, Minsk region).
Three local council members represent the organizing committee on forming the Belarusian Christian Democracy party. Veterinarian Alyaksei Tsyulkou won the elections to Asipovichy district council (Mahilou region), teacher Zhanna Shcharbina – to Ausyanki village council (Horki district, Mahilou region), military pensioner Viktar Bardzyuh – to Hidrynski village council (Kobryn district, Brest region).
One local council member is activist of the Belarusian Social Democratic Party Hramada. Viktar Mikhasyou is elected member of Baran city council (Orsha district, Vitsebsk region).
21,288 local council members were elected at the poll held in Belarus on April 25. Candidates in 14 constituencies, where only one candidate ran in the elections, failed to gather enough votes.
