Mayorau: No more need for Gazprom delegation to come

Beltransgaz and Gazprom plan to sign a supplementary agreement to the gas transit contract on gas transit for 2011 in the nearest time.

BelTA learnt this from Beltransgaz Director General Uladzimir Mayorau.

According to him, Beltransgas took into account Lukashenka’s instructions and intensified negotiations with Gazprom. The parties have significantly brought together their positions. “In this connection, there’s no more need for Gazprom delegation to come to Minsk,” Uladzimir Mayorau said. “We are able to cooperate at a distance.”

Beltransgaz general director noted Gazprom had already sent its variant of the supplementary agreement to the transit contract. “We have agreed on it and sent it back on June 27,” he added. “I think we will sign all necessary documents on Wednesday or Thursday, as planned.”

Uladzimir Mayorau didn’t exclude the agreement may be signed at a distance. “Technically, it is possible,” he stressed.
