Economic court deprived “Forward Movement” of legal address

On July 29 the Economic Court of Minsk sustained the claim of Minsk city executive committee concerning “Forward Movement” research and educational institution.

The court found the residential property rental agreement between Forward Movement and Tina Vlati limited liability company “null and void”, which in fact gives legal grounds for liquidation of Forward Movement, which is carrying out “Tell the Truth!” campaign.

BelaPAN was informed about that by a human rights activist Raisa Mikhajlouskaya.

“Initially the city executive committee asked to find the rental agreement invalid, however the situation of the claim changed in the court. If the rental agreement was recognized “null and void” by the court, Forward Movement would lose the legal address after the decision’s entry into legal force. The today’s decision of the court means that from the very beginning of its activities work of the institution was illegal, as it had no legal address and could not be registered,” Mikhajlouskaya said.

Representatives of Forward Movement are set to challenge the decision of the court in the Supreme Economic Court.

The human rights activist believes that during the trial norms of the Civil Code had not been abided by.
