New fairytale from Prakapovich

An aim of average salary of $500 per month remains unattainable, but the head of the National Bank of Belarus promises 1000 dollars.

Chairman of the National Bank of Belarus Pyotr Prakapovich presented a report on the social and economic development to the head of state. According to him, the average salary in Belarus should reach $1000 by the end of 2015. Deputy head of the President’s Administration Leanid Anfimau offered to double the GDP in the nearest five years, Euroradio informs.

According to “Yezhednevnik”, economists doubt if the goals set may be implemented.

Stanislau Bahdankevich, a former head of the National Bank, thinks it’s unreal to fulfill these plans. If one wanted to double the GDP, it means the current GDP is considered to be too low. This statement by the government is an ordinary publicity stunt, Bahdankevich thinks.

Former prime minister of Belarus Mikhail Chyhir notes no concrete steps are taken in the country to achieve the plans.
