Iryna Khalip given award

Iryna Khalip, a famous Belarusian journalist, was awarded a special diploma in the international competition for investigative journalism.

The Central European Initiative (CEI) and the South East Europe Media Organisation (SEEMO) awarded Romanian journalist Adrian Mogoş for outstanding merits in investigative journalism. The Jury selected him for his investigations of such issues as human traffic, enforced labour, illegal deforestations, abuse against Roma children, etc.

Journalists Iryna Khalip from Belarus and Lydia Pavlova from Bulgaria were given a special diploma for their valuable contribution to investigative journalism in their own countries.

The jury took into account the personal risks taken while performing the duty, the quality of reporting as well as the impact on society of the messages conveyed.
