“Business Georgia” IA reminds that Ukrainian newspaper “Delo” named Uladzimir Peftsieu the richest Belarusian oligarch, evaluating his fortune for 1 billion USD. Peftsieu is a founder of the PUE “BT Telecommunications” and the chairman of the stockholders meeting of ZAO “Beltehexport” – a structure dealing with arms trade.

Meanwhile, total assets of ten largest businessmen of Belarus in the newspaper’s opinion make up some $1,9 billion.

For comparison: ten largest businessmen of Moldova possess assets of $1,4 billion, and in hands of top-10 oligarchs of Russia according to Forbes $113 billion are concentrated.

It is quite impossible to say how close to the truth is the evaluation of the fortunes of Peftsieu and ten oligarchs of the Ukrainian newspaper, because of thick veil of secrecy, which covers the activity of large Belarusian business.

However, Peftsieu, as well as the other representatives of the rich Ten are links of the so-called family business of Alyaksandr Lukashenka, forming by their assets and activities the holding ZAO “Republic of Belarus” in form of numerous legal entities. Taking into consideration this peculiarity of private business of Belarus one can assume, that while evaluating the total fortune of the Belarusian Top, the newspaper lowered the real numbers at least in 10 times, by mistake.
