Telephone girl refused to send words “Let’s defeat moustachioed bastard” in telegram

“I cannot pass such a text. I know whom you mean. We have an instruction not to disseminate such things,” the telephone girl said.

A Hrodna-based journalist Andrzej Poczibut told in his blog a funny story about his friend who decided to send a telegram to a political prisoner Zmitser Dashkevich and used a special phone number 166.

The text he dictated was the following: “Zmitser, hold on! I believe we shall defeat the moustachioed bastard soon!”

However, it turned out that it if forbidden to write about the moustachioed bastard. It is also forbidden to use the word “to defeat.”

The explanation of the person who said he had meant cockroaches didn’t help. As a result, a neutral telegram like “Zmitser, hold on! Freedom in near. Long live Belarus!” was sent to Dashkevich.

The journalist calls upon people to write a few lines to Zmitser Dashkevich.

“We know from the lawyer that telegrams are received by him. Your telegram is the only human voice which could be heard by him in his solitary confinement in the harshest colony of the country.”
