The Belarusian authorities are satisfied with Poland’s statement on absence of territorial claims to Belarus.
They also ask the Polish authorities to stop such “provocations” as “politicizing relationships with the Polish minority in Belarus, the allocation of financial resources to interfere in internal political processes in our country”.
“We welcome the assurances given by Poland in the absence of any infringement on the sovereignty of the Republic of Belarus,” Andrei Savinykh, the spokesman for the Belarusian MFA, said commenting on summoning the Belarusian ambassador to the Polish MFA.
“At the same time we cannot ignore the attempts of the Polish authorities to politicize the relations with the Polish national minority in Belarus, provision of funds for interference with the domestic policies of the country, and irresponsible statements by the Polish top officials in regard to Belarus,” Savinykh noted.
As the Belarusian party thinks, “Poland’s refusal to take these provocative actions will eliminate many unnecessary problems in bilateral relations”.
Earlier, Ambassador of Belarus to Poland Vktar Haisyonak was summoned to the Polish MFA after Alyaksandr Lukashenka’s statements that Poland allegedly dreams of annexation of western Belarus.
