Belarusian dictator insults Westerwelle and Sikorski

Lukashenka “threw a stone at” the MFAs of Poland and Germany at today’s press conference for Russian media.

Alyaksandr Lukashenka says Poland’s policy was among the reasons for absence of Belarus at the Eastern Partnership summit and states the country will not yield to “provocations” of Polish politicians, Interfax-Zapad news agency reports.

“We are not going to yield to provocations of Poland. They are our neighbours and we do not want to fight with them. But Poles are initiators,” Lukashenka said on Friday during a press conference for Russian journalists.

He noted that “great public figures in Poland dream of the border passing near Minsk”. “But politicians come and go away. This will go away as well,” the head of state said.

“They were shaking: What will Lukashenka say when he arrives? What will Poles hear from him?” he said.

“I carried out the election in compliance with the standards of the European Union. We diverted from our own legislation,” Lukashenka stated.

In this connection, as AFN news agency reports, Lukashenka told Russian journalists how he unwillingly offended the foreign ministers of Germany and Poland by criticizing homosexual relations. Lukashenka is said to have been unable to pronounce the word “homosexuality” on the first try. After several unsuccessful attempts, he specified: “Well, what you may call it, when a man with a man… homosexuality.”

“As for lesbians, this is the blame of men, this is tolerable. But if men – I do not understand this.” Lukashenka added that he expression his point of view at a meeting with the European foreign ministers when they were discussing the freedom of assemblies.

“Westerwelle [Guido Westerwelle, the German Foreign Minister – Interfax] remembers this even now. I still feel guilty – who made me say this? I did not mean to offend him. If he likes this and this is normal for them… But it’s beyond my comprehension. I said this honestly,” Lukashenka confessed.
