A delegation of the Belarusian opposition must speak with one voice.
Without economic sanctions it would be impossible to stop the repressions unleashed by the state machine of Lukashenka against participants of the peaceful protest on the Square on December 2010.
The former Chairman of the Supreme Soviet of Belarus Stanislau Shushkevich has made such a statement in an interview to Radio Racyja.
“As the Belarusian oppositional; delegation, we must speak with one voice on this issue. I hope that Milinkevich will stop the policy of the dialogue with the authorities as well,” Stanislau Shushkevich said.
“I hope he has realized already that one cannot go the path of agreement, when one has a foot of this disgusting regime on one’s throat; when the regime humiliates people, beats up them, orchestrates provocations. Only Milinkevich could seek a dialogue with this regime, it was convenient for him at some stage, as people from Europe were singing along with him and supported him for that. But it seems to me that now Europe understands what is going on – he should change his image, and he should speak about the real situation in Belarus,” the first leader of an independent Belarus thinks.
