Belarusian MFA and Ministry of Defence deny everything again

“There are no military specialists in Libya. They cannot be there,” Belarusian MFA press secretary Andrei Savinykh said regarding an article in “Komsomoskaya Pravda” newspaper.

“It would be naive to suppose anything else,” the MFA representative said.

“The conversation with a representative of the Belarusian Embassy in Libya is a fake. This, as I may say so, journalist, who evidently lacks professional ethics, phoned to the embassy and asked about Belarusian medical workers leaving the country,” the Belarusian MFA said.

“Publishing such an article may be regarded as a desire of the yellow press to earn on credulity of readers. Or we have faced another action to discredit the Republic of Belarus,” the press secretary is convinced.

“What is illustrative here is that the technology of such tricks supposes publishing wrongful information in a newspaper with a low reputation or not important rating. Then the material is quoted by the so called “respectable” media, which do not bear responsibility for this content,” Andrei Savinykh unveils the plot.

“Whether it was a cheap trick of the yellow press or a thought-out large-scale provocation will be cleared up in the nearest time. What we have is that the article in “Komsomolskaya Pravda” (literally Komsomol truth) contains only Komsomol spirit, but not the truth,” the MFA press secretary resorted to wordplay.

The Belarusian Ministry of Defence made a similar statement.

Ministry of Defence: There is only one service person in Libya

“In connection with publishing information about alleged presence of Belarusian service persons in Libya by “Komsomolskaya Pravda” newspaper and a number of pro-opposition resources, the Ministry of Defence states that this information is provocative and does not reflect the reality,” the Ministry of Defence says.

“There is only one service person in Libya. He is a military attaché in the staff of the Embassy of Belarus in Libya,” the Ministry’s special press release informs.
