EHU students summoned for questioning by police and KGB (Video)

Police and KGB have been summoning students of European Humanities University are summoned for questionings and conversations for the last two weeks.

Students were summoned in Minsk, Svetlahorsk, Slutsk and Homel, Kiryl Atamanchyk, a coordinator of StudAlliance youth initiative, wrote on his blog.

Secret services ask about activity of students in the independent Belarusian university, about infrastructure of the EHU, en exiled Belarusian university in Vilnius. KGB officers say as usual that “western secret services wash your brains”.

This may be connected with the fact that EHU enrolled 20% more students this year. Atamanchyk thinks that the secret services “create a base of stool pigeons, as it was with Tatsyana Zhuk in 2009. They begin to collect compromising information on students ahead of a new enrollment campaign.”

Last year, EHU took a creative approach to this issue.
