Internet service provider Dzelavaya Setka urges customers to stay loyal despite EU`s sanctions

TAA Dzelavaya Setka (Business Network), a leading Internet service provider in Belarus, has urged its customers to stay loyal despite the European Union’s commercial ban on the company.

At its meeting in Brussels on March 23, the EU Council decided to impose an asset freeze on Dzelavaya Setka and 28 other Belarusian entities, which it said are controlled by three businessmen subject to restrictive measures due to their role in supporting the Lukashenka regime. Dzelavaya Setka is believed to be controlled through BT Telecommunications by businessman Uladzimir Peftsiyew, who was blacklisted by the EU earlier.

In a statement issued on March 26, the press office of the Belarusian-British joint venture said that it did not have any foreign financial accounts or any other assets abroad or equipment pending delivery to it under a contract with a foreign supplier. This means that the ban cannot affect the services provided by the company to its customers in Belarus, it said.

“If you are a client of SP TAA Dzelavaya Setka in the territory of the Republic of Belarus and you or your partners have doubts about the legitimacy of further cooperation with our company, we recommend that you apply to the foreign ministry of the EU member state, where you or your partners are resident, for information about the scale of sanctions that the mentioned document [of the EU Council] may provide for before making a final decision on the matter,” said the press office.

“SP TAA Dzelavaya Setka hopes that its existing and potential customers will use the right to judge its business reputation by their own based on its years-long work in providing quality and affordable Internet services,” it said.

“Opening the world to the Belarusians and Belarus to the world has been and remains our company’s mission,” the press office added.
