Greece shut down the illegal import of electrical appliances from Belarus

The Greek Tax Office discovered one of the biggest frauds – illegal import of electrical appliances from Belarus. According to the investigation, the appliances were imported duty-free by Greek company “Orbikom” based in the town Koropi in Athens suburbs, which then distributed them to the wholesalers’ warehouses across the country.

The estimated damage to the Greek budget for the time of company’s activity amounted to Euro 1.3 billion. A criminal case was initiated against the company’s shareholders, as “Greece and us” reports.
