Iryna Bahdanava leaves SBIO Council

Iryna Bahdanava, the sister of presidential candidate and political prisoner Andrei Sannikov, has released a statement today.

“In view of the coordinating meeting of a number of Belarusian NGOs held in Warsaw with the assistance of the SBIO, I would like to make an official statement.

I am leaving the Council of the Solidarity with Belarus Information Office (SBIO) and I do not want my name to be associated with the activity of the Office, which is among organizers of the event.

The foremost reason for the decision is that the represented organization and I have absolutely different positions on key issues. Moreover, the SBIO have repeatedly ignored business ethics,” Iryna Bahdanava said.
